The second edition of the Strenes Festival places Girona at the epicentre of the Catalan music scene

The festival will run from 27 March to 13 April and will host most of the new musical releases in Catalonia this season. Tickets will be available from the festival website from Monday 3 February at 9.00 am. This year the festival will run for 3 weeks, from 27 March to 13 April, and will present most of the new musical releases in Catalonia this season. With a programme full of big names, headlined by the eagerly awaited return of Mishima, Gerard Quintana, Sanjosex, Quico Pi de la Serra and Blaumut. Other highlights include performances by international artists like Mouss et Hakim (Zebda) and Emel Mathlouthi, "the voice of the Arab Spring". Els Pets will be presenting their new album Àrea petita with the collaboration of the Jove Orquestra Auditori de Girona. The Orquestra Di-Versiones is preparing a very special concert with the collaboration of Jeanette, Leslie (Sirex) and Santi Carulla (Mustang). Quico el Célio, el Noi i el Mut de Ferreries, Feliu Ventura, Glaucs and Els Amics de les Arts are just some of the big names that will also be appearing on the Strenes stage in this edition. According to the Mayor of Girona, one of the aims of this festival is to make Girona well known as a city for the performing arts, visual arts and musical arts. And this event clearly furthers that aim.
